A River of Syrup
On January 15th, 1919, Boston was struck by a disaster unlike any other. A massive tank click here filled with syrup burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that swept through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, reaching heights 25 feet in some areas, was horrifying. Buildings were flattened under the power of the treacherous goo.
